Glam up with Glossy Box

April 21, 2018

Ahhhh, subscription boxes!  There are literally hundreds of them for all different things; food, drink,  plants, homeware - the list is endless!  Well Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription box.

I was sent April's 'nostalgia' box and was very excited when that adorable pink box was handed to me by the postman!

What was included in this box?

-Glossybox exclusive angled brush

-Affect matte effect transparent loose rice powder

-Eyeko FAT liquid eyeliner

-Karl Lagergeld + ModelCo baked blush

-Imperial Leather Unicorn marshmallow foam burst (limited edition)

Makeup look with the products

I did my usual prime, foundation and brows.  I started off on my eyes with the Eyeko eyeliner.  I lightly dusted a matte brown shadow over my lids then (attemped) to do a large wing.  It was easier to do that when I try with my normal liquid liners.  Because of the size of it, it meant I was doing less lines and filling the wing with the product.  I finished the eye off with a little lengthening mascara.

I used the Affect loose powder to set.  It smells really nice and sets instantly.  It feels almost silky on the skin and not drying at all.  I really enjoyed using it.  After that, I started to use the Karl Lagergeld + ModelCo baked blush as a blush but I really didn't like it as a blush.  I felt it had more of a hightlighter shimmer to it so I lightly swept it right across my cheekbones like I would any other highligher, not using too much product so it didn't go too pink.  I much preferred it this way!

I don't usually use an angled brush on my lips but I gave it a go as per suggestion with some red lipstick.  It was soft but firm so was able to hold the shape.  I lined my lips with it then filled in the rest with the brush.  If you're used doing it this way I think you would find this brush really good to this with but I think I'll stick to using it on my eyes and brows!

The Unicorn foam smells so good, and it feels so smooth on your skin!  The foam expands and turns into a gorgeous feeling gel as you wash with it.  It's a shame it's limited edition, I would defiitely use this for the rest of my life if I could!

All in all, I found this box amazing!  I thoroughly enjoyed going through the products and using them for the first time.  My favourite product is the liquid eyeliner, I feel like I need it in my makeup bag permanantly.

Prices

The box costs £10 a month (less if you sign up for longer periods of time) and includes makeup and beauty products.  The price for all of these products are:

-Glossybox exclusive angled brush - £5.50

-Affect matte effect transparent loose rice powder - £9.35

-Eyeko FAT liquid eyeliner - £16.00

-Karl Lagergeld + ModelCo baked blush - £31.00

-Imperial Leather Unicorn marshmallow foam burst (limited edition) - £3.15

All of these prices are based on the full size products and ALL of the products in my box were full sized.  That's just £10 for £65 worth of prodcuts.

I would definitely say that the box is completely worth what you spend on it and I'm over the moon this box!  Sound good?  Subscribe to the box here!  And I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
