Nourish and strengthen with Organic Shop plus competition details

April 24, 2018

I'm always on the lookout for new skin care products and I'm becoming something obsessed with my skin.  However, I have never been interested in hair care - until recently.  My hair is naturally frizzy and gross, always damaged and I never really looked after it until someone pointed out to me how dry and damaged the ends were.  I thought what's the point of looking after my face and my skin and ignoring my hair for that to go manky instead? - so I stepped up my game!  So with that in mind...

Organic Shop are a body, face and haircare range who specialise in products all made with organic and natural ingredients.  Not only that but ALL of their products are 100% cruelty free which makes them brilliant for everyone.  There are no hidden bad chemicals or ingredients in the formulas which just adds to why they are great!

They were kind enough to send me some shampoo, conditioner and a hair mask* to try out so I could see what the products were like.

Hair type

So I told them what my hair was like the majority of the time; dry, damaged and frizzy.  It always looks a mess and no matter how hard I try it is always falling out and snapping when I comb or straighten it (and yes I comb when wet and ALWAYS use heat protection).  So they sent me Moroccan Argan & Amla - nourishing, strength and striking lustre.

Argan & Amla

Organic Argan & Amla helps to repair damaged hair giving it vitality and shine.  The organic Moroccan Argan oil is rich in antioxidants, essential fatty acids and vitamin E which means it can increase your hair elasticity to restore dull and lifeless hair.  The organic amla deeply conditions and makes your hair shine.

So to fairly test out this product, I have used it for almost 2 weeks and used it no differently to how I would usually use shampoo, conditioner and hair masks including the time of day, how I treat it afterwards and styling.

I started off putting three pumps of the shampoo onto my hand which equalled around the same amount as what I would use with my usual shampoo and started to lather it into the roots of my hair then down towards the ends.  Three pumps wasn't enough for my hair as I have thick, bushy locks so I put two more on and that was fine for me.  I rinsed it off thoroughly and went onto conditioner.

So the conditioner was a similar situation, but I don't use conditioner right on my roots.  For me, I have found that if I really condition the ends of my hair up towards the middle section is how it works best.  The feel of this product was lovely and I felt like it was really making a difference in how my hair was feeling whist washing it.

Hair mask

I try and use a hair mask once a week at least so I have used this one twice.  This smells stronger than the two other products.  It goes really nicely onto damp hair, and when working it into the massive bushy mess on my head, I could feel that it spread so easily.  After drying my hair it felt so soft!

Overall thoughts

So my hair has definitely started to feel softer and look nicer.  My ends aren't as dry and I feel as though there is more life to my hair rather than it being as flat and grim-looking.  My ends aren't as split and less is coming out when I straighten it as you can see in the pictures below.

As you can see, there is a big difference after using the shampoo for just under two weeks. There will always be hair fallout as it dies and replaces itself, women naturally lose 50-100 strands of hair a day.

What I have found it that the shampoo and conditioner don't have a really strong scent which some people might like, others not.  For me, it doesn't make that much of a difference as long as it smells nice, which it does!  It kind of reminds me of green tea but nicer...  It's hard to explain!

Anything else?

So what if you don't struggle with dry, damaged hair but there are other things your hair struggles with?  Well don't worry because Organic Shop have four other formulas in all three products for different hair types.

Honey and Avocado:  repairing, softness and vitality

Raspberry and Acai:  volumising, strength and thickness

Pomegranate and Patchouli:  invigorating, smoothness and perfecion

Coconut and Shea: moisturising, softness and revival
